As I sit here, and enjoy the rain, I think about all the concerns visitors to island have because it might rain.

I think we have done this before, but it's always good to keep information in the forefront when we hit rainy season.

So, please add your suggestions on things to do if it rains.

Here are some of my favorite things;
1. Have breakfast/lunch at the Museum.
2. Spend time visiting the Museum. It's a wealth of information.
3. Snorkel in the rain (if no thunderstorm are around)
4. Swim in the pool (if no thunderstorms are around)
5. Find a restaurant/bar with a palapa and make new friends

The most important thing in life is not knowing everything, it's having the phone number of somebody who does!

The museum for sure. When your done there head up to the Sonora Grill. Upstairs overlooking the street. Order lunch or appetizers and a pitcher of Sangria. Relax and people watch. Great way to kill a little time. Enjoy!

Some other ideas:

Visit the Humane Society
Shop
Take a drive and site see
Visit a spa
have your hair braided
get henna tattoos
visit the grocery store and try something new
Experience the Mayan Steam Lodge

and if you have the "personality" to handle it, visit a timeshare and get FREE STUFF to use when the rain stops;)

Just because it is raining where you are doesn't mean it is raining everywhere on the island. I'll drive to an area where it isn't raining.

Many times the rain doesn't last very long. I'll mix up some Bloody Mary's or Margaritas and wait for the rain to pass.

Sometimes I will go to the movies.

Now that the casino is open I might go there.

Rain or not it's still a good day to go bar hopping.

It's usually cooler when it rains so a rainy day is a good time to make use of your oven and make some pulled pork or steam some home made tamales.

I still need to try out the bowling alley so that might be fun for a rainy day.

Stay at home and catch up on some rest you need from partying to much or read a good book.

Get together with some friends or meet new ones.

Also depending on the amount of rain and the condition of the streets, I might just stay at home and get the furniture off the floor and the sandbags out.

Wasn't it around 2004 in June there was a huge rainstorm. I had just left the island but the people I am renting from had 18" of water in their house. It took a couple of days for the water to go down.
