Hi, I'm not sure if it's ok to post this here or not but I thought I'd give it a try. I've been here for a month, snorkeling and taking pics. I have been able to identify most of the fish but there are currently 3 that I can't seem to find anywhere.

The first one is about 6 inches long and has very defined scales and kind of blends in with its surroundings:

The next one is about 1-1.5ft long and has a flowing dorsal fin.

The last one is 2-3 inches and totally blends in with the bottom. I circled it to try to make it easier.

Thanks for any help you can give me and if I'm not supposed to do this or need to do it in another section just let me know and I won't do it again.

We think the first one may be a type of burrfish, given the size of the eye. The second is probably a Slippery Dick, can't really tell what the third one is, it MAY be a Sand Diver.

Love all the cool fishies!

#1 is a Parrotfish intermediate phase (female). Can't postively ID it since the tail -- which holds the key -- isn't well defined in this photo. Leaning toward Redtail (greyish tail ends in a red crescent.) Only other option is Stoplight (white bar at base of tail; rest of tail red or reddish; crescent-shaped at the end.)

#2 is a Sand Tilefish

#3 is a Goldspot Goby

Love those sand tilefish. The shimmer of their scales is breath-taking.

Oh Dawn, you struck out.... Deb knows her fishes.... But I love the Slippery Dick reference. Is that like a Dirty Girl Scout?

Dirty Girl Scout:

1 oz vodka
1 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur
1 oz Bailey's Irish cream
1 oz white creme de menthe

Ha, ha, only a slight resemblance, CC! Though I'm sure that Dawn was referring to the wrasse, here's a Slippery Dick recipe:

1.5oz Butterscotch Schnapps
2oz Bailey's Irish Cream
3-4 oz Half & Half

The most important thing in life is not knowing everything, it's having the phone number of somebody who does!

OMG, gag me with the Butterscotch shanapps! Who knew they made such a thing? I think Paula ought to call her corn snake
Slippery Dick and let it live another day. (see gardening)
