Simply wanna share this picture of the huge Snapper I shot last Saturday. All free diving at 50ft and took us almost an hour to get it on the boat. Still full of energy... :D Attached File  maximum overdrive.jpg   136.79KB   72 downloads

That is a beautiful fish. Though with so few of the big ones around anymore, it saddens me a bit to see this old guy taken.

I can understand your feeling.
I do have to say that where I hang out, most of the time in the North part of Cozumel, I see a lot, I mean a lot of big snappers and big groupers.
Getting them on the boat is very hard though.
These guys are smart....
And it is not like everybody can get to them.
They hang out pretty deep and all spearfishing is free diving, (so scuba spearfishing is not allowed).
That makes a catch like this very rare...
Thatīs why I posted it.

I hear you, Leo. Congrats on the big catch. I'd much rather see fish being taken in the manner in which you take them than being trawled out of the ocean in drag nets or long lines. Been thinking about getting out with you on one of my visits to Coz; maybe it'll happen this time (I'll be down there in another week (Jan. 7-14).

Thank you.
That is exactly the way it is...
;)
Hope to see you in January!
