Between professional cleaning, I use the following concoction to clean my earrings, and rings.
This solution works especially well on diamonds.

Items you will need:

small ceramic/glass bowl
white vinegar
baking soda
soft toothbrush

Take your jewelry off so it will be ready to drop into bowl.

In the ceramic/glass bowl add 1/8th of a cup of white vinegar
Add a teaspoon of baking soda, drop jewelry into the bowl IMMEDIATELY AS IT FOAMS.

Leave the jewelry sit for about 15 mins, then use soft toothbrush to clean around the posts, rabbit ears, and mounts, then rinse.
(make sure your sink drains are closed, and covered)

This concoction also works as a general cleaner for most surfaces.

The most important thing in life is not knowing everything, it's having the phone number of somebody who does!
