PROFECO has not been at the mercado municipal for a while. Their office is upstairs in the Plaza del Sol building, on the east side of the plaza.

Thanks for that update, Graduado! I fortunately haven't needed their services for at least the last four years so good to know the new location which should be airier for them I'm hoping and easier to find.

I have updated the correct location.

Is there a verification on the key contact as well?

Thank you

Hmmm. According to the federal website, Cozumel has lost its subdelegation!

Deb, it would appear that a physical visit to the office is necessary to verify if it is there, or not and who the key contact information.

This is an important resource for the community and tourist alike.

Hopefully we still have a sub-subdelegation. Yes, it is a very important resource that a number of us have used over the years.

As as said before, the PROFECO office is upstairs in the Plaza del Sol building on the east side of Juarez Plaza. Same faces, different office location.

Updated 1-24-2013.....:
Here is your contact at PROFECO: Procuraduria Federal del Consumidor / Federal Attorney's Office of Consumer

PROFECO Cozumel:

Their office is upstairs, on the center courtyard, in the Plaza del Sol building, on the east side of the plaza.

Local tel. no.: 987-872-1257 or 987-872-0180.

Federal Attorney's Office of Consumer:

From what I was told Ariadne is no longer in the office and at this time no one in the local office speaks a working of level of english....., I asked about english speakers needing to contact PROFECO, and was told that they should use the national website.....: http://www.profeco.gob.mx/english.htm
