I finally got my internet up and running again. It only took four trips down to Cablemas, a new router, and a new cable to the house. That didn't include the 11 day wait with four of those days waiting at the house for them to show up.
I think this is the rainest July I have ever spent on the island. It's rained every day since I arrived except today. Today was finally nice. Sunny and warm but it looks like clouds are coming back in again.
The beer and ice are holding up good.
The liquor stores were closed for the election but I stocked up early so everything was good.
In all the stores ice is a precious commodity. In Mega it's stored back by the ATM machines where there are usually armed guards refilling the ATM's. You can't even get near the ice storage without showing a receipt to a security person who has to sign and stamp it before they let you grab a bag. It seems like a lot of extra work to me but I guess people steal ice all the time.
I made it to Casa Mission last week for dinner with a couple of people I took around the island. The food and atmosphere were good as usual.
The flaming coffee was good too.
If you watch the clouds you can sometimes stay ahead of the rain. We managed to do that by going to the other side.
Coconuts always makes for a good stop.
Usually, our last stop on a trip around the island is Wet Wendy's where you will find friendly bartenders and good drinks.
I haven't seen to many convertible vans in my life but there is at least one on the island.
The drive along Melgar heading home in the evening is always nice
It's starting to rain so I need to go and put the windows up in the Explorer.
