Hey Albert we just filled up our car. At 3.75 liters per gallon at 12.90 a liter  (premium) it comes to $ 3.75 per gallon. This is  using 13 pesos per 1.00 USD.  Even at 12.5 it is only 3.87 a gallon.

Guess it is pretty close however

At 12.32 per liter for Magna (regular), that's about $3.55 US. The price did go up 50 centavos for regular and 60 centavos for premium. I believe Traveler was quoting Dan who has a somewhat "fuzzy" Canadian made calculator. The last gas I bought here was $4.02 a gallon, that's almost a dollar cheaper than average for the last five years.

It is a few cents here and there applied to everything. Price went up to truck things to the ferry and then to ferry across to the island. Having a 16% sales tax is high for the U.S., but Canadians dealt with GST and Provincial taxes at even higher rates. Canadians pay high taxes, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Charles, at $1.25 Cdn per litre (current price here at home), that equals about $4.45 per US gallon. And with windchills approaching minus 40 degrees Celsius, that's the same in Fahrenheit!  Too darn cold by half! Flight is booked for February 26th, so make sure the weather warms up down there by then, OK?
