Hello all, I'm looking for an inexpensive rental possibly from October 8th -22nd and maybe through the 29th if the price is right.  Two adults and one baby.  We plan on renting a vehicle so I'll need parking as well.  We don't need anything fancy.  My wife and I speak decent Spanish if that helps.  We usually stay at Vista Del Mar downtown, They are nice and cheap but expensive after a couple weeks. Internet would be really nice.

That was just wonderful, Betty!  Thanks for posting that.  Never heard of this place but I'd stay there in a NY Minute after watching that well produced video.  Kudos to the videographer.  And kudos a ti for finding it.

Blanquita's has been around forever, back in the 1980s and into the 1990s, they were among only a small handful of apartments in Cozumel. I don't know if they offer short term rentals, they used to be long term leases. If you noticed in the video, they didn't feature any of the rooms. That would be a big leap down from Vista del Mar. What were you paying there and would they discount in October?

What was your budget, or what would you like to pay? A two week rental isn't going to merit much in discounts compared to a daily rate. Did you want air conditioning? Did you want a pool? There are a number of places in the $40 dollar a night range recommendable, if you drop below $35 they start to get sketchy. October being the height of hurricane season for the Western Caribbean provides for screaming deals on heavily discounted expensive places. Inexpensive places won't/can't discount that much. Did you want a kitchen and prepare your own meals. That can cost a little more, but you come out way ahead.

Here is the list I go thru when I'm planning a visit:

http://www.cozumelvillas.com/

http://www.cozumelparadisevillas.com/

http://www.fulviocozumelrentals.com/

http://www.casamartillo.com/

www.micasacozumel.com   http://www.micasacozumel.com/

Note:  micasa cozumel has a location called casa coral.  it is a 4 unit, 2bedrooms place near av 40 and calle 8.  they are adding 6 1-bedroom units to the second level so there may be some construction.  check with them about this.  the new units are supposed to be available by nov 2014 so by october they may just be doing final painting and stuff.

Good luck!

To see inside the rooms go to the website:

apartamentosblanquita.com/index.html

Looks like a nice clean place, great location, at a decent price. My only concern would be the AC. Looks like the old aircraft engine kind (noisy) vs quiet mini-split.

If you are ready to commit to 2 weeks in October, say so and see if you can get a weekly rate vs daily... In low season many people are willing to deal. It never hurts to ask.
