We have been here on a two week dive trip and found a great new restaurant downtown, Cielito Lindos ( I think I have the spelling correct). It is at Calle 3 and Avenida 5, just across the street from Del Sur.

They only have outdoor seating right now and they are just getting going. They actually opened the week of January 12, but the food is great.

We have had Stuffed Poblano Peppers (in the Puebla style) with sausage and cheese stuffing and a walnut sauce. Also, Enchiladas with 3 kinds of Mole (again in the Puebla style, as the owner/chef is from Puebla). There are a few other things on the menu now, Tacos, Fajiatas maybe a Filet Mingon, but the menu is still expanding as they get their feet underneath them so more may be added soon. The salads seem great, the drinks limited but not lacking in alcohol.  The staff seems very earnest and the service was good.

Altogether, we have been there 3 times in our 2 weeks. Being from New Mexico, we appreciate good chilis and their stuffed Poblano is one of the best we have ever had anywhere.

Prices are about $10 to $15 for most entrees, with lunch and smaller items, less.

Anyway, you guys should give it a try.

Looks interesting. Always good to have San Miguel options as we are still pretty new to the island. Thanks for the recommendation.

We tried this place about 10 days ago and it was excellent.  The service and food were very good and the prices I thought for that area of town were reasonable.

We also had an excellent experience there Saturday night.  I had the Chili Rellenos en Nogales - it was FANTASTIC!  My husband had the Arrachero Tampico which was also good, but we both agreed that mine was better.  The flavors were exceptional.  The chef/owner and his wife are a delightful young couple.

The restaurant is open Monday - Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Chiles en nogada is one of my favorite things and the version at Cielito Lindo was good. The only thing missing was the pomegranate seeds, and those are out-of-season.

Stuffed Poblano Peppers are my favorite! Don't know how we missed this place last winter, but will definitely try it in January.  Hope it's still there!

There are many kinds of chiles rellenos, but chiles en nogada are the kings of the chiles rellenos.

It's where Adrian's kiteboarding and bikini store used to be. Casa Cuzamil is still open.

Speaking of Casa Cuzamil.  We had lunch there last month and it was the best lunch we had and very reasonable.  Ran out of time or we would have gone back one night for supper.

It's directly across 5 Avenida from Del Sur.
