We went yesterday to SKY Reef, and it was just wonderful.

 

The food is outstanding, no loud music, and the drinks were perfect.

 

You can snorkel a long way, and see lots of stuff.

 

They have a boardwalk to get into the water, with a few steps.  It does have large rocks when you get off the stairs, so be cautious.

 

I asked the Manger if they are planning to put down sandbags or anything to get further out into the water, and he said that they did not want to upset the Eco system.  Good for them.

 

Hands down, I like it better than Palancar, and Corona.

I keep hearing great things about Sky Reef. I have to get there soon and see it for myself.

 

Is there anything in particular on the menu to pay special attention to?

I had the chicken nacho's, and normally I don't eat that stuff, but I wish I had order a plate all for myself, and not had to share.

 

The Bloody Mary was excellent too.

 

People sitting across from us, ordered lots of food off the menu and where raving about it.

Where is it exactly?

it is a very short distance south of Playa Corona.  Terrific place.

It's a new beach club.  No funny business with trying to charge you get in.  The food and drinks are very good, and locals/plan local they offer a really nice discount.

We didn't eat any food there; just had some drinks and snorkeled. Very nice place and friendly staff.

How did the snorkeling compare to Corona?

I have only snorkeled at Corona a couple times; it has been a couple years ago, and one of those time  a jellyfish got me! So.. not sure if I could give a good comparison. I did enjoy snorkeling at Sky Reef but it is not my favorite place.

Husband snorkeling the south side of  Sky Reef, and reported that the sea life is in abundance, as good as Money Bar.  It has a drop off with coral heads (less than at the MB), and you could do a beach dive easily from SR.

 

Guess it depends on which way you go, and what your comparing it too.

 

I'm there for the food.
