We will be there in a couple of weeks and have decided to rent a van to accommodate a family of 10.  Where is the best place to park a van when going downtown?

There are a ton of inexpensive parking lots all over downtown. There will usually be one within a block or two of wherever you end up, so the best one is the nearest one.

Were you able to find a van that accommodates that many people? I tried once and was unable.

Yes, we were able to get a van through rentalcar.com.  I will post more after our vacation and give you more specifics.

I tried to get a van once.  It was EXPENSIVE.  I got 3 cars for less!

Yeah, if I ever have a total of 10 people again I'll just make them rent a couple of extra cars.

We crammed 15 into like 3 cars.  "Follow me and do what I do"  Of course they pulled over when the police truck was behind them and then started freaking out because I didn't and thought I was in a big low speed police chase.  That was fun.

C & J Payne:
Did you have to pay an immediate fee for insurance? If so, don't be surprised if you are told once you get here that such insurance is no good in Mexico. That's what happened when I went through
rentalcar.com. Then they did not respond to any of my emails.
