Sometimes I have to get my Coz fix by looking at Google Earth. Dated 5/29/2015

I was taking a "drive" around the east side and continued north past the transversial road.

There is an area that has some buildings and what appears to be a beach area?

Anyone familiar with this, I've never ventured this way and always thought it was pretty much a no go.

Also if you keep going you'll get to the wreck of the Princessa with a real cool picture of Adrian kit boarding over it !

(you just click the photo tags, kinda funny how far off some locations are)

That should be the military complex. A good place to get stuck in the sand.

I ll have to look at it.  I rode the new moto all the way to the passion island dock up the west side.  Does it connect from there over to the east side road up north?

No it looks like it ends at the north light house, just looks real swampy after that.

I've just gotta do a boat trip around the island.

I'm putting that on my bucket list !

This is what you are looking for. The military base is on a nice beach with a sand road passing it. Would recommend 4 wheel drive to get through. The sand is very loose and you will sink in and get stuck. I forget the time it takes to get there but it is probably an hour and a half from the cross island road. The good thing is the military are friendly and will usually help to get you unstuck. Do like they do and drive Humvee's and you won't have any problems.

From the Passion Island road you can't get there.

That is what I was thinking.  I thought the OP was posting there was a road from the east side to the old ferry.

There are a few roads up by Passion Island and I've tried a few of them and didn't get very far. It's all swamp or wetlands around that area and it is to easy to get stuck. The north road by Meczalitos is bad enough.

The road wasnt that smooth to the dock across from Passion Island!  Weird little campground or something up there.
