As reported in Diario de Yucatan online with jaundiced comments by mi:

The island is expecting 22 cruiseship between Feb 15 and Feb 21, one less ship than the current week about to end. Estimates are 66,000 people aboard of which around 50,000 will get off. (The others having been scared to death by the Cruise Lecturers, no doubt)

Local businesses hope to take in 6 million and maybe more because it's carnival with lots of vendors selling things in town. (Of course, most of that money will go to a few tour operators who are forced to pay usurious commissions to the cruiseship lines for the privilege of carting cruisers around.)
