The first "norte" of the season to really effect Cozumel, may blow in last this evening or tomorrow, some rain and winds of 18 to 20 MPH can be expected....., Winds are changing at most reporting stations, as far south as Veracruz along the mexican gulf coast. Will this bring an end to Tropical Strom Season for this year?

Note: This is the 3rd "norte" to enter Mexico this season, it will be the first to really effect us here on Cozumel......

supposed to go down to 22 C tonight! How 'bout them apples? Man, cool that ocean down!

The first norte usually heralds the end of hurricane season. But I can't believe that's true in this case.

this is very odd indeed. if true, i wonder if this will mean a fall and winter with lots of nortes though. NOT a good thing for anyone working in the water (almost all tourist attractions).

googled 'cold front Sept 26 2010' last night and they have it in San Antonio, TX. Don't know if it's the same front or another one but a front is also stalled over the middle atlantic states from Phillie to the Outer Banks. No appreciable rain or wind last (Monday) night, however. We'll see what the next two days bring.
