i have an area that extends the length of our yard. lots of big trees so filtered sun. was told the best bet for the shade, and for the small areas of sunny spots, will be pasto japones (japonese grass). they also said it does extend out like the st augustine grass, just at a slightly slower rate. i like the idea of the japonese grass as dog poop will come up much easier and it feels oh so yummy on the feet (the grass, not the poop). they also say that the more shade the greener it is and it doesn't need to be cut so often, like monthly if watered regularly.
anyone have any experience HERE that should steer me AWAY from japonese grass?

Why not just stick with some columbian weed?
